BIRTHDAY GIRL
I do believe I am getting wiser,
More miserable and bitter, too.
Is this the price to pay?
I keep making hopeless wishes, but those are lies.
For the littlest of affection, I'm a miser.
A smile plastered on my face, no one ever knew.
Ink wasted on memories I will keep carrying anyway.
Blowing out the candles, a new sunrise.
My best years, but I am a mere prisoner.
Perpetual death sentences, I will not come through.
I ought to endure this grim penitence, so here I stay.
